In this generation, everyone is on their phones. Some people can’t live without their phones. Phones can be very resourceful in terms of what apps you have, and they can help someone organize their life a little better. There are apps for games, money organization, health related apps, and much more. I would love to discuss the apps I use on a regular basis, but let’s focus on the best recovery phone apps for recovering addicts for now!
The Best Phone Apps
Hazelden has several different apps, but this is an all time favorite. 24 Hours A Day was awarded Top Alcoholism App in 2014 and has continued to grow into a great resource. It features the complete collection of thoughts, meditations, and prayers from the book itself.
12 Steps AA Companion is a great application resource. You can set up a sobriety counter, write notes, add AA contacts, and read the 12 steps right from your phone! With its high star rating, there’s no reason this app couldn’t be more perfect for your life.
SoberTool is an app that counts your clean/sober days and shows how much money you’re saving. You’ll receive daily messages for readings and milestone rewards and have the ability to search for support meetings. There’s also an online recovery forum so you can ask questions and get answers.
CleanTime Counter is what it says. It’s a useful tool for recovering alcoholics or addicts and it counts how many days/years you’ve been sober. You can adjust the background picture and font choice for your liking. You can also share your success with social media, or put a passcode on the app.
Imagine the Big Book of Alcoholics turned into an app. The app includes daily meditations, prayers, promises, access to search the book, track your sobriety and track your friends’ sobriety. It’s rated the Top Selling App for the iPhone, but you can also download it for Android.
I Am Sober is one of the motivating recovery phone apps that helps you track your sobriety and feel good about yourself. It features a sobriety counter, milestones, and access to sober clubs and your savings. The app was also seen on the Netflix series, Love!
Sober Grid allows you to find people in your area that are in recovery and message them. You can set up your profile picture, biography, interests and add friends. You can also keep track of how long you’ve been sober and unlock achievements.
Meeting Finder is another great resource for finding meetings. It helps you find meetings based off location and time, and contains a list of meetings from all 50 states. If you don’t see a meeting you attend, you can submit it yourself to the listings. And if you notice the meeting has a different time or location, you can send an alert to the creator.
